Since only a lucky few of you have actually been able to play with my SWEET little guy in person- here's the next best thing. Without further ado, I bring to you (drum roll please) Athen, in his almost live internet debut:

I love your blog! Athen is so cute! iT's crazy how fast they grow!! We haven't canned apples in a long time, the last time Dave did, he used an apple pie filling recipe from Xochie, but i can't find it, so you'll have to get it from her.
we're working on figuring out how to can tomatillos - maybe a chili verde? we'll keep you posted! :-)
oh, we also can pickles (emeril's sweet 'n spicy recipe is REALLY yummy) if you guys are the pickle eating type i can send you the recipe
